Reset and Recalibrate: A Daylong Mindfulness Retreat for Lawyers

Reset and Recalibrate: A Daylong Mindfulness Retreat for Lawyers

In a profession in which deadlines are constant and demands from clients and colleagues seem ceaseless, opportunities to be quiet and still are much needed, but rare. It can seem self-indulgent or guilt-inducing to let yourself rest.

As lawyers, our solution to feeling overwhelmed is often to work harder, chasing that ever-elusive "inbox zero" or crossed off to-do list. The result? We burn out. We go through the day waiting for the other shoe to drop. We miss opportunities to connect with loved ones. We aren't present when it counts.

We've cultivated a space for you to give yourself permission to be still for a day. This daylong retreat will focus on practices designed to foster a greater sense of calm and ease. With a greater sense of spaciousness, we can approach the to-dos with clarity and perspective. We might even enjoy our work (and those around us) a little more. We show up more fully for our lives.

Together, we'll spend time in silent periods of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and mindful movement. We'll have time for a few teachings as well as an opportunity to share and get to know one another.

A simple vegetarian lunch, light snacks, and tea will be provided. Due to the remote nature of the location, it will be difficult to purchase food and drink during the day, so please bring anything you might want to have handy with you. If you have any dietary restrictions, please email Annette (annette.wong1@gmail.com) after you register.

This retreat is open to beginners as well as experienced meditators. The cost of the retreat is $199. We also have a discounted $50 ticket for law students. We hope you'll join us.
